DESCRIPTION:

Retained by client. Used
City Building Department and Fire Department records to
search out and find location of tank. Engaged contractor
to remove UST system. Over saw all aspects of the
removal of the UST system. Ordered pumping of materials
in tank and blow back into tank of all piping to avoid
spillage when removing tank. I oversaw pumping of
contaminated water from runoff water that entered into
excavation during removal. Ordered removal of
contaminated soil and collected and had analyzed soil
for disposal. Collected soil samples at both ends of
the UST cavity floor and every 30 ft along the pipe run.
Encountered water in the excavation and collected a
water sample. Analytical results revealed levels of
analytes investigated to be below MDL of laboratory.
Engaged a licensed transporter to transport and dispose
of approximately 5,850 gallons of oily waste water under
manifests. Completed all paper work for the client.
Engaged a transporter to transport and dispose of 14
cubic yards of broken concrete. Excavation backfilled
with clean sand. The tank was exempt from regulatory
directives under the MDEQ-STD; however, if contamination
had been revealed, remedies under MDEQ-ERD would have
applied. Completed project within time and budgetary
constraints. |
