Investigation for Delineation and Initial Assessment Report |

DESCRIPTION:

Purpose of
project was to delineate extent of contamination and determine
if contamination was migrating off site. USTs had previously
been removed and a Confirmed Release was on file with MDEQ.
Sewer utilities across site as well as residential properties
adjacent (south and downstream) to site posed concerns for off
site migration. Requested demarcations of subsurface
appurtenances provided by MISS DIG. Submitted Notification to
do Work on Site to MDEQ in accordance with time restraints.
Prepared a HASP specific for site. Prepared a CAD site plan to
scale. Sampled walls and floor of excavation; sampled piping
runs every 25 ft; and sampled near and under dispensers. Sampled
at property lines of all four directional perimeters; and
sampled near all utilities. Using 3-inch over boring geoprobe
piping, advanced borings for setting of 2-inch monitoring
wells. Developed, purged, and sampled monitoring wells.
Collected samples with appropriate preservatives and
methodologies and submitted under chain of custody to qualified
laboratory for analysis via SW-846 for gasoline parameters,
diesel parameters, and waste oil parameters and metals.
Assessed the analytical data via RBCA and MDEQ Criteria and
concluded high potential for off site migration toward
residential property south. Evaluated exposure pathways and
revealed that sewer utilities were impacted.
