Site Assessment Subsurface Investigation

DESCRIPTION:

In accord with ASTM 1903 performed a site assessment prior to performing IAR and Closure. The site was a former AMOCO gasoline station. The current owner had never operated the site as a gas station and was now selling the property. Retained by the new purchaser.  New purchaser wanted a site assessment performed on the property and if contamination was found, a BEA to protect him from liability as the new purchaser.   Performed a visual survey of the site, contacted AMOCO to obtain as much information as possible and performed a due diligence on the site in order to design a scope of work for subsurface investigation. Designed and implemented a scope of work to address the client’s objectives. Engaged MISS DIG to demarcate utilities and prepared a HASP. Advanced soil borings, collected samples and properly prepared them with appropriate preservatives and maintained cool (<4 degrees Centigrade), and submitted them, along with a trip blank, for analysis under chain of custody to an independent qualified laboratory. Prepared site diagrams to scale and included all structural features. Characterized the soils and prepared boring logs.  Assessed the data in accord with RBCA and MDEQ Criteria and determined viability of potential exposure pathways.  Suggested that the client notify the property owner that a confirmed release should be filed with MDEQ based on the analytical data obtained.  Prepared BEA.
